What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic complementary therapy where pressure is applied - through the thumbs and fingers - to different parts of the feet and hands - known as “reflex areas” . Those reflex areas are connected to corresponding organs, glands, and systems of the body via the nervous system.
The concept of Reflexology was developed in Europe in the second half of the twentieth century but the practice of massaging the feet as an efficient way to bring the body and mind into balance dates back thousand of years and has been found all over the world.
Reflexology treatment is gentle, natural, and non-invasive. Its purpose is to encourage relaxation and to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. It helps to release blocked energy, it stimulates the movement of energy, it improves blood circulation, thus increasing the efficiency of organs and cells. This will in turn restore a healthy homeostatic balance to the body.
Reflexology improves health, enhances relaxation, boosts the immune system, prevents illness, and relieves pain for a better quality of life.

 Why turn towards reflexology?

To relieve stress/anxiety:
Negative thoughts about past and future, worries caused by professional, financial or personal matters create stress. In the long term this can affect the structure and functions of your body. Reflexology promotes relaxation and offers the opportunity to break the cycle of bad patterns to release tensions, and to quieten your mind.
To cope with physical traumas due to physical work, injury, or surgery:
Reflexology stimulates the secretion of endorphins, natural analgesic substance. This helps to ease the pain while also increasing tolerance to pain.
To Detox:
Processed food, pollution, stress contribute to the building up of toxins in the body; reflexology encourages the cleansing and elimination of toxins and waste, thus preventing diseases.

 Areas where reflexology provides support

Women’s health:
Reflexology stimulates the hormonal system and brings it into balance - it can provide support during and after pregnancy, with fertility issues/treatment, with irregular menstruation, with PMS; it also helps to reduce and alleviate menopausal symptoms.
Psychological disorders:
Reflexology helps to address dysfunctional sleep patterns, recurrent headaches/migraines, depression– by encouraging relaxation, the release of well-being hormones to bring back the body’s natural rhythms.
Digestive problems:
Such as IBS, constipation, bloating, indigestion, inflammation of the digestive system.
Other Health conditions:
Such as skin problems, joint pain, back pain, sciatica…

Hypnosis is a powerful tool that creates a state of heightened awareness during which hypnotic suggestions are used to replace outdated programs and create lasting changes. While hypnosis and hypnotherapy will not directly help you get pregnant, it will help in the process of you becoming ready to conceive. Q: What can I expect during a reflexology session?
The treatment is non-intrusive. Only shoes and socks are removed, and the ankles are uncovered.
You will be asked to lie down on a massage table or to sit on a comfortable chair with your feet raised.
Before the treatment, your feet will be cleaned and warmed up with a gentle massage. Gentle breathing exercises will also help to relax the body and prepare it for the treatment.
During the treatment, you may experience different sensations. You might experience deep relaxation; you might even fall asleep. Some areas may be sensitive; some patients might experience sharp pain in a particular area of their foot or hand, which may indicate that a part of their body is out of balance.
After the treatment, we will discuss the sensations you may have felt and my findings. A specific treatment plan will be designed for you for potential future sessions.
Some further advice and guidance will be offered to you to continue at home to enhance the benefits of the treatment.
Q: How much does a treatment cost?
See all the treatments and price list here
Q: Do you sell Gift Vouchers?
Yes, gift vouchers are a popular present for those you care about and are available in any amount you wish. You can contact me to order them here
Q: How should I prepare before a session?
If the treatment takes place in the comfort of your own home, make sure you will be comfortably sitted or lied down and that your feet can be elevated and accessible to me, in a place we won't be interrupted. It is important you relax without being disturbed. You can prepare an extra blanket if you get cold during the treatment. If the treatment takes place on site, you have nothing to prepare.
Q: When are you open?
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 7pm and Saturdays 9am to 1.30pm ACE enterprise park in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, closed on Sunday.
Every Tuesday I will be providing Treatments at the Alternative Healing and Wellness Centre in Walkinstown from 8.30am to 7pm.
Q: How many treatments should I attend ?
After just one session the patient can already feel the immediate benefits and relaxing effects of the treatment.
For some patients, who have been carrying a pathology for a long time, it is recommended to attend several sessions before any improvement manifest itself.
Following the first session, and depending on the findings, your general health condition and/or medical concerns, I will discuss the treatment plan with you including the number of sessions needed.
Attending regular sessions is recommended to obtain the best results.

Indian Head Massage

Q: What is Indian Head Massage?
The traditional art of Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient system of medecine known as Aryuvedic, which has been practised in India for thousands of years.
The massage includes the upper parts of the body vulnerable to stress, such as upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face. It is an excellent treatment for stress management and to prevent stress-related issues such as migraine/headache, postural issues, lack of sleep, pain and tensions. Also, Indian head massage is especially effective for increasing vascular and lymphatic circulation, as well as the supply of oxygen to the brain, it restores the energy flow to the body, helps to eliminate toxins, promotes healthy hair growth, improves dandruff condition, encourages cell regeneration, improves the elasticity of the skin.
It is advisable to take frequent treatments close together initially to restore balance. Then, I encourage my client to get Indian Head Massage as frequently as they can and need. The 30 minutes treatment I offer is ideal to relax and clear the mind during lunch break.
"Right from the start, she took the time to explain in detail all she would do and why she would do it. I can’t recommend Laura enough"
